Nigeria has been involved in many projects to create National Research and Education Networks - NUMIS, NUNet, PolyNet, TeachNet, NEARNet, elf Net, NULP, VLC, in an effort to develop and use ICT to foster institutional collaboration among and between administrative and academic communities. 

The ICT Forum provided an update on the latest efforts in the WACREN 2009 meeting.
