Eko-Konnect joined Vice-Chancellors of universities across Nigeria and other stakeholders to support the launch of the Africa Union Network of Sciences AUNS by the African Union Scientific, Technical and Research Commission AU-STRC in Abuja.

The AU-STRC has developed an online portal for the African Union Network of Science AUNS- where African Scientist, Engineers, technology developers, innovators, and inventors will be able to interact, cooperate, exchange information/knowledge and complement one another in research and academic work.

Speaking at the one day workshop the Executive Director AU-STRC, Dr Ahmed Hamdy stated that aim of the event was to provide Vice-Chancellors and Principals of the Nigerian Universities and Heads of Scientific Associations and Institutions and other associated stakeholders detailed information about the AUNS and to demonstrate the AUNS portal to the participants to encourage them to become champions of the AUNS to promote the portal as a common platform for knowledge sharing within the academia.

The event involved a number of presentations providing background on why AUNS was formed and a demonstration of the portal. This was followed by an intense interactive question and answers session between with the participants. Certificates of Recognition were awarded to the participants at the end of the workshop with most participants pledging their commitment to support AUNS and see the growth of the portal.
