Today a delegation of management personnel from Covenant University, Lagos State University (LASU) and Lagos State Polytechnic visited Medallion Communications Data Centre to see firsthand Eko-Konnect Network Operating Centre Infrastructure and how peering to WACREN and connection to Nigerian Internet Exchange Point has been established. The delegation led by the VC of LASU had a question and answer session with Mr Ike Nnamani, CEO of Medallion, Owen Iyoha, GM Eko-Konnect and Mr Omo Oaiya CTO WACREN were present to describe to the delegation how their institutions and the research and education communities can now connect to WACREN and the wider global R&E networks by establishing links to NgREN and Eko-Konnect NOC routers in Medallion. The delegation then proceeded to visit the MainOne MDXI Datacentre to better understand how MainOne was also supporting the WACREN connectivity backbone.
